Dear subscribers, dear visitors of our websites, dear friends

The price of the luxroots subscription has not changed since 2011 although the number of entered births has increased from around 400,000 to 1,285,000, that of marriages from 28,000 to 182,000 and that of deaths from 6,000 to 73,000 without mentioning the other benefits covered by this subscription.
As per April 28th, 2017, we have slightly adjusted our subscriptions by one euro. This increase will be compensated by the allocation of 300 myluxroot points (instead of 200).
In order not to attract too many genealogists doing research beyond their families, we stopped selling myluxroots points. Instead, we encourage them to join our projects to enter details of records or their recent family members in our common and non-profit database. The points allocated for this active participation in our project have been increased considerably.

What to do with these points? You can use these points to activate certain transactions or to access other databases or websites. You can also exchange points against PDF lists with birth / baptism data for people of a certain surname. And under certain conditions, we now authorize you to renew your subscription with these points.

Which associate is currently working on what ?

Our associate Marianne EHMANN indexed 1,005 records of the notary Jean Georges UNGESCHICKT 1724-1754 from Wellen-Grevenmacher. Our database with notary records includes now 13106 records.

Peters_BertemesFor a family meeting, we look for the descendants of Jacobus PETERS *1810 in Wahlhausen and Susanna BERTEMES *1812 in Urspelt. They married in 1841 in Hosingen and had 5 children:
Johannes *1842, married in Wahlhausen;
Theodor *1844 married in Roder (click on the image to enlarge);
Peter *1847;
Jacobus *1850, married in Reisdorf and
Philippe *1852, married in Mertert).
Do you want to meet your family? Then contact
christiane.peters@education.lu (Phone 81 05 64) or hortense.bohler@education.lu (Phone 31 83 15). Every message, every phone call makes us happy.

Even if the details of births, baptisms and marriages sometimes make it difficult for our associates because of the writing used in the records, it is always a joyful event. On the other hand, the serial entering of the death records of a municipality or parish often makes our associates sad given the very young age of the deceased. During the entering of these deaths in Hosingen, Christiane discovers that 4 children aged 2 to 10 years of the REIFFERS-SCHON family in Rodershausen die in the week of February 18-24th, 1819. What a tragedy! Fortunately, the other four children of the couple count many descendants.

How to link a death notice I found on eluxemburgensia.lu with the record of the deceased person in luxroots? See our Demo-Video. (We suggest to open the video with the Firefox Browser.)

Through the myluxroots transactions, more than 300 subscribers and associates have already entered their recent family members to luxroots linking them to the ancestors already entered earlier by our volunteers. If you add 7 family members (1924-2017) in our database, then it is possible that you get a pedigree chart with 1,000 ancestors (10 generations), and this in 10 minutes, not to mention the ability to create lists of descendants of these ancestors instantly. In Luxembourg, you will find nothing comparable to our project and for this reason, please help us to assemble the large Grand Duchy of Luxembourg genealogy puzzle and the neighboring regions. Check the pedigree charts of Christiane, Hortense, Paulette and Serge. Do the same, we will support you!

Let us build together the genealogy tree of Luxembourg! luxroots is the genealogical association in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg whose volunteers do not work on personal databases, but enter data online directly to the non-profit luxroots-database.
That's why working together makes us so powerful. If you are able to analyze records of civil registers or even of parish registers, and you want to be part of a dynamic team of volunteers as part of the cross-border and non-profit project, please contact us!
You do not need to go to townships or to archives. luxroots makes available to its associates the pictures of the records of a certain township/parish free of charge which they plan to analyze and enter the details in the luxroots-database.
Do not hesitate to participate in this great puzzle of genealogy of Luxembourg by analyzing and capturing the details of the records of your preferred township or parish. Check our inventory of records of townships/parishes
to be analyzed soon or other available documents.
