luxroots.club asbl - your Genealogy Club in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg

Dear friends and visitors of our websites

The year 2014 is coming to an end which gives us a good opportunity to take a look at this year. As always in life, there have been ups and downs.
First, there was the loss of two of our partners:
Christiane OTH-GALLION and Jos ZIMMER. We thank them for their commitment to our project in which they will remain forever in our memory.

During the year under review, we were fortunate to have participated in numerous exhibitions in Luxembourg, Belgium and France to present our projects to interested people. Our exhibition 'Genealogy in the Greater Region' in Hesperange dated November 9th was a great success and the next edition will take place the weekend of September 19th to 20th, 2015.

Last June, the luxroots group transferred all its activities into two non-profit organizations. luxroots.com association manages all activities around the luxroots projects, and luxroots.club, the Genealogy and Local History Association of Luxembourg, became the club for luxroots.com subscribers, igenealogy.lu contributors, and luxroots associates. Our club currently has over 700 members and is thus the largest genealogical association in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg./b>

2014 was also characterized by the 10th anniversary of our project, and we passed the gap of one million analyzed records and the details have been entered into our database. For the period of January 1st to December 16th, 2014, our associates have analyzed and entered the details of 204,000 records i.e a daily average of 582 records.

luxroots increasingly becomes the Genealogy Center for family researchers of Luxembourg and the descendants of emigrated ancestors through our websites and
our myluxroots applications. These applications allow you to add your recent family members, enrich any record in our database by adding photos, studies, professions, functions, links, text .. check the 30 latest downloaded images through this link.
Manage and consult your remote genealogy wherever you are and whenever you want!

Today, more than 600 users support the project luxroots.com by one of our subscriptions!
If you are not yet among these people,
join them now!
We offer them our PDF lists with family names with a special discount of 30% which will be added to the 10% discount given as a member of our luxroots.club association until end of this year.
The documents for a special family name include in chronological order details of baptisms / births of persons with this name and registered in the luxroots database.
Check the
list of available names as well as specimen list (the STEINFORT family name)

luxroots makes available to its associates the pictures of the records of a certain township/parish free of charge which they plan to analyze and enter the details in the luxroots-database.
Do not hesitate to participate in this great puzzle of genealogy of Luxembourg by analyzing and capturing the details of the records of your preferred township or parish. We are looking for people entering births in the cantons of Capellen, Grevenmacher, Esch-sur-Alzette, Luxembourg and Remich as well as for the Belgian and German border regions.
In addition, some 200,000 baptisms are waiting to be deciphered to enter details of these records. If you know Latin, we need you!
