luxroots.club asbl - your Genealogy Club in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg

Goodbye 2014, welcome 2015

We wish you good health, productive research using our websites, the fortune of finding the ancestor you have been looking for for a long time and patience to achieve your genealogy.

Luxroots has just completed a year of breaking all records with a significant increase in visitors to our websites. Never before have, as many family researchers, supported our volunteer projects with a subscription. We have passed the gap of one million records and we confirm our leading position in genealogical databases of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.
Check our inventory of finished data input.

Compared to 2013, the number of records entered increased during 2014 by 26%, the births by 26%, marriages with 15%, deaths by 44%. Active registered people increased by 17%, recipients of our Newsletter by 17%, subscribers by 25% and the associates by 6%. Note also that this newsletter is sent to 2,997 registered visitors.
With over 700 members, luxroots.club is the largest genealogical association of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.

But we do not want to stop there, but will continue with our team to become the Genealogy Center for the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg and even the border regions. In the medium term (by 2020), the online production of pedigree charts and descendants'lists of up to 10 generations for anyone born, married or dead in the region should be possible. In the long term (by 2025), even all the details from death records of civil and parish registers (~ 1600-1923) of our region should be available.

To get there, we need you. Luxroots is the genealogical association in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg where its associates do not work on personal databases, but they enter data online directly to the luxroots-database. That's why working together makes us so powerful. Provided that you are able to analyze records of civil registers or even of parish registers, and you want to be part of a dynamic team of volunteers as part of the cross-border and non-profit project,
please contact us!
You do not need to go to townships or to archives. luxroots makes available to its associates the pictures of the records of a certain township/parish free of charge which they plan to analyze and enter the details in the luxroots-database.
Do not hesitate to participate in this great puzzle of genealogy of Luxembourg by analyzing and capturing the details of the records of your preferred township or parish. Check our inventory of records of townships/parishes to be analyzed soon
or other available documents.

As a luxroots subscriber, we provide you with a suite of applications to give you the ability to add, in compliance with Luxembourg law, your recent family members ie. born from 1895 to today, to relate to people already entered in our database, and thus obtain a pedigree chart for your entered people.
You can add to any record of a person in the luxroots database additonal informations such as studies, professions, functions; postal or electronic addresses; one or more information about a marriage, migration, ..; images from your computer to the luxroots server; links to a document, a website, a picture ..

As a subscriber, starting from January 2015 we increased the myluxroots points to add these data by 100%. Therefore, visit our
myluxroots page.

events where we are present with an information stand. The next Genealogy Days of Luxembourg and the Greater Region will be held the weekend of September 19 to 20, 2015 in Hesperange.
