Dear subscribers, dear visitors of our websites, dear friends

On August 7th, 2015, the
Luxembourg American Cultural Society & Center organizes their annual Cultural Conference in Belgium, Wisconsin(USA). This year, genealogy is the topic of this conference, and therefore the organizers also invited the luxroots founder. Our colleague Jean ENSCH, member of the LACS, will represent our association and so, we created a presentation about the luxroots projects (in English French and German). Check also our other demo-videos.

On May 18th, 2015, we passed the gap of 1,100,000 entered records. The Details of the last 100,000 records have been entered at an average of 621 per day (7/7). Many thanks to our associates and subscribers! It is unique in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg to find so much genealogical information in a single database.

As of May 17th, 2015, we completed the adaptation of our subscriptions as announced in our
May newsletter and therefore your consultations counter has been adjusted. Meanwhile, we double the allocation of myluxroots points for cooperation from our subscribers within our project.

More and more subscribers worldwide use our
myluxroots applications to add their recent family members, to add images, links, jobs, studies, functions, information about marriage or migration, death information and other. Starting from May 17th, 2015, we give double of myluxroots points for these cooperations:
60 points for adding a child to a couple
50 points for uploading a picture
30 points for adding a person
15 points for adding a link to documents
10 points for adding a text (marriage data, ...)
5 points for adding death data
3 points for adding studies, jobs, functions, addresses

A pedigree chart up to 9 generations can be established for a child born after 2013, until 8 generations for young people born after 1983, until 7 generations for people born after 1953, 6 generations for people born after 1923, otherwise until 4 generations. These people were usually entered by a subscriber using the myluxroots transactions. Check this with our demo videos.
Use the transaction 'Add a child of a couple' to relate the child to its parents and thus a pedigree chart of up to 9 generations can be produced for that child.

Many interesting people visited us during the '72 Stonnen Bénévolat' in order to know more about our projects.

Thanks to the systematic entering of all records of the Grand Duchy and the neighboring regions, we have the advantage to compose a migrant family, as is the case of the couple PETRY-STURM. Dominique PETRY, born 1831 in Reckange-sur-Mess marries 1872 in Rodenbourg Margaretha STURM born 1847 in Rodenbourg. The first 3 children were born in the township of Biwer, a fourth in the township of Dippach, the following 2 in the township of Bascharage, and the last(?) one in 1890 in Le Havre (France) - perhaps before emigrating to ... - any information is welcome.

During the month of May 2015, the luxroots.com associates finished the following data input:
4,062 births 1797-1923 of the township of
Frisange by Jean-Paul GASPERINI
620 births 1895-1913 of the former township of

Reckange-sur-Mess by Jean-Claude LAHYR
2,789 births 1797-1869 of the township of
Stadtbredimus by Marilyn FÃœRST

luxroots is the genealogical association in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg whose associates do not work on personal databases, but they enter data online directly to the luxroots-database. That's why working together makes us so powerful. Provided that you are able to analyze records of civil registers or even of parish registers, and you want to be part of a dynamic team of volunteers as part of the cross-border and non-profit project, please contact us!
You do not need to go to townships or to archives. luxroots makes available to its associates the pictures of the records of a certain township/parish free of charge which they plan to analyze and enter the details in the luxroots-database.
Do not hesitate to participate in this great puzzle of genealogy of Luxembourg by analyzing and capturing the details of the records of your preferred township or parish. Check our inventory of records of townships/parishes
to be analyzed soon or other available documents.
