More and more subscribers use luxroots as their genealogy center by adding recent members of their family. Check the pedigree charts ofChristiane, Hortense, Paulette and Serge. Do the same, we will support you! Visit us at our next monthly meeting at the Centre Nicolas Braun in Hesperange (near City Hall) on Tuesday, March 22nd, 2016 at 7pm in order to have more information about our myluxroots transactions.

luxroots is a team of volunteers working together in the genealogy project managed by the nonprofit association luxroots.com.
The major work of our volunteers is the analysis of records of parish and civil registers, and the online entry of details of these records in our common database. The project covers the period from ~1600 to 1923 of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg and the Belgian and German border regions.

The entered data is immediately shown through the tools of our website (research and consultation of details, creation of pedigree charts and lists of descendants or on the basis of our PDF documents) based on a subscription, limited in time and volume.
This exceptional work greatly simplifies the genealogy of all family researchers and the decryption of ancient documents by current and future generations.
If you use our data in your family research, please indicate www.luxroots.com as source of information.
If you're considering a digital publication (web site, PDF or other media) or on paper to third parties or to the public without payment, and you use a lot of data available on luxroots, we recommend to quote www.luxroots.com as a source of information on the first page of this publication.
Any use of our data for commercial purposes (search for ancestors, heir research, ..) is not permitted without special permission.

After publishing articles on genealogy research in the Eifel-Trier region and in the province of Luxembourg, we now present the genealogy research in the province of Liège and especially in the German region of Belgium.
Reading rooms for the
Belgian State Archives are located for the province of Liège in Eupen and Liège. For a visit to these archives, you must have an access card of 20 euros per year.
In past years, the Archives of the Belgian State have made a considerable effort by
posting most of their records of parish and civil registers (23 million pages) online. For the consultation of these records, you must have a free access userid.
Meanwhile, FamilySearch.org has put the majority of records of Civil Registers of Belgium including those of the
province of Liège online.
You find direct links to the above-mentioned research
on our main page.

From early 2014, luxroots started genealogical research in the border municipalities of the province of Liège. Today, you find details of 14,483 births entered on basis of copies of the original records in the luxroots database, mainly by Susi VOOSEN, Irma JODOCY-HENTZ and Aloyse JODOCY.

If you are able to analyze records of civil registers or even of parish registers, and you want to be part of a dynamic team of volunteers as part of the cross-border and non-profit project, please contact us!
You do not need to go to townships or to archives. luxroots makes available to its associates the pictures of the records of a certain township/parish free of charge which they plan to analyze and enter the details in the luxroots-database.
Do not hesitate to participate in this great puzzle of genealogy of Luxembourg by analyzing and capturing the details of the records of your preferred township or parish. Check our inventory of records of townships/parishes
to be analyzed soon or other available documents.
Get an idea of the work of our associates who, after analysis of the record, enter details of the record. Visit them at our monthly meeting, on Tuesday, March 22nd, 2016 at 7pm in the Centre Nicolas Braun in Hesperange (near the city hall).
You can download our documents about Latin records with the following links:
