Dear subscribers, dear visitors of our websites, dear friends

Our volunteers added almost 70,000 birth/baptism, marriage and death records during the first quarter 2016. Details of births/baptisms increased during this period by more than 52,000 and marriages by 13,500.
The teamwork of our 54 volunteers helped the luxroots.com association to become the largest genealogy provider of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg within a few years.
The work of our volunteers is for our subscribers seeking their families and should greatly simplify their research and decryption of old records. Our data are not available to feed databases, websites, genealogical work for third parties, which pass beyond the genealogical research of the family of the subscriber.

Together, we can do better. Help us build the largest genealogy database of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg and the neighboring regions. More and more subscribers use luxroots as their genealogy center by adding recent members of their family. If your ancestors were born and married in Luxembourg, then luxroots can display your pedigree chart up to 7 generations (1800-2015) within one week. Check the pedigree charts of Christiane, Hortense, Paulette and Serge. Do the same, we will support you!

(see above graph) - As of March 19th, 2016, the luxroots team entered almost 735,000 births 1798-1923 of the Grand-Duchy of Luxembourg. 8,000 births from 1914 to 1923 of the former municipalities of Eich, Hamm, Hollerich and Rollingergrund are unavailable at this time and 26,000 births of the municipalities of Bous (450), Dalheim (1,000), Differdange (5,000), Esch-sur-Alzette (3,200), Grevenmacher (1,000), Lenningen (3,000), Machtum (1,000), Mertert (1,800) Remich (3,000), Wormeldange (5,500) will be entered in our common database within the next months.
For the 1798-1923 period, the Diekirch district with almost 239,000 births is far ahead of that of Luxembourg with 205,000 (including records not available at tis time).

Thus, the births of 9 cantons are completly entered in our database except the 8,000 births of the canton of Luxembourg unavailable at this time.

Regarding the births of the canton of Luxembourg,
they are distributed as follows among the various municipalities (* = former municipalities).

If you are able to analyze records of civil registers or even of parish registers, and you want to be part of a dynamic team of volunteers as part of the cross-border and non-profit project, please contact us!
You do not need to go to townships or to archives. luxroots makes available to its associates the pictures of the records of a certain township/parish free of charge which they plan to analyze and enter the details in the luxroots-database.
Do not hesitate to participate in this great puzzle of genealogy of Luxembourg by analyzing and capturing the details of the records of your preferred township or parish. Check our inventory of records of townships/parishes
to be analyzed soon or other available documents.
