Dear subscribers, dear visitors of our websites, dear friends

If you want to establish as complete a genealogy as possible, there is one good address for your family research in Luxembourg today: www.luxroots.com. As part of this cross-border and non-profit project, full details of over 121,000 marriages and over 1,130,000 births are at your disposal on our website. By comparison, a competing website (private) provides 84,000 marriages (with known marriage place) and 239,000 people (with known birthplace).
Today, you check on the Internet all records of the Civil (~ 1795-1923) and parish registers (~1600-~1815) of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg as well as the notary records 1621-1821 and the 1843-1900 censuses without going to archives or libraries. Follow
this link.
Do not mislead you by fanciful figures of 2,500,000 people as indicated by a private genealogist. In Luxembourg, there are only birth and/or baptism records for some 1,150,000 people born in Luxembourg between ~1600-1923. Do tend to trust the volunteers of our non-profit association.

Together, we can do better. Help us build the largest genealogy database of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg and the neighboring regions. More and more subscribers use luxroots as their genealogy center by adding recent members of their family. If your ancestors were born and married in Luxembourg, then luxroots can display your pedigree chart up to 7 generations (1800-2015) within one week. Check the pedigree charts of Christiane, Hortense, Paulette and Serge. Do the same, we will support you!
If you are not yet among the luxroots subscribers,
