Dear subscribers, dear visitors of our websites, dear friends

As of September 30th, 2016, luxroots has closed the 2015-2016 year of its two associations.

luxroots.com asbl, as responsible association of the luxroots projects, just completed a great year primarily due to the diligent commitment of our associates, to the support by the press and the financial support of its subscribers. Below are some key figures::

The luxroots team participated in 10 exhibitions. 9 genealogy courses were given to 115 participants.
The financial situation of the association is healthy, and therefore we have now ordered a development of a new website as well as of all our applications of the luxroots projects. (

If today, we talk about Luxembourg genealogy, we think luxroots.
Therefore, let us build together the genealogy tree of Luxembourg! luxroots is the genealogical association in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg whose associates do not work on personal databases, but enter data online directly to the non-profit luxroots-database.
That's why working together makes us so powerful. If you are able to analyze records of civil registers or even of parish registers, and you want to be part of a dynamic team of volunteers as part of the cross-border and non-profit project, please contact us!
You do not need to go to townships or to archives. luxroots makes available to its associates the pictures of the records of a certain township/parish free of charge which they plan to analyze and enter the details in the luxroots-database.
Do not hesitate to participate in this great puzzle of genealogy of Luxembourg by analyzing and capturing the details of the records of your preferred township or parish. Check our inventory of records of townships/parishes
to be analyzed soon or other available documents.

AGO luxroots.club asbl 2016
With 919 members as per September 30th, 2016, luxroots.club asbl is the largest genealogical association of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. Next to 11 meetings and conferences organized monthly in the Centre Nicolas Braun in Hesperange with 237 participants, the club organized a conference on former jobs at the mill of Beckerich. 35 members participated at the bus tour for visiting the Basilica of Avioth and the Abbey of Orval on July 20th, 2016. Following the reports, a check of 1,125 euros (from our luxroots Charity program) was given to the association ALAN represented by its president and treasurer. The assembly and the evening ended with a small reception. Get a view of the pictures of this event taken by our associate Armand GILLEN. Alan.lu
ALAN is a non-profit association of public utility. Since its creation in 1998, the association supports people with rare diseases and provides services for them and their families.

luxroots.com and luxroots.club have organized the genealogical days of Luxembourg and the Greater Region in Hesperange during the weekend of October 8th and 9th, 2016. This event was a great success with 20 new subscribers. We already booked the place for the weekend of September 30th and October 1st in 2017. Through the myluxroots transactions, more than 180 subscribers and associates have already entered their recent family members to luxroots linking them to the ancestors already entered earlier by our volunteers. A subscriber recently added three members of his family in our database and received in return a pedigree chart with over 100 ancestors (7 generations), and this in 5 minutes, not to mention the ability to create lists of descendants of these ancestors instantly. In Luxembourg, you will find nothing comparable to our project and for this reason, please help us to assemble the large Grand Duchy of Luxembourg genealogy puzzle and the neighboring regions. Check the pedigree charts of Christiane, Hortense, Paulette and Serge. Do the same, we will support you!
Today, you may check on the Internet all records of the Civil (~ 1795-1923) and parish registers (~1600-~1815) of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg as well as the notary records 1621-1821 and the 1843-1900 censuses without going to archives or libraries. Follow
