Dear subscribers, dear visitors of our websites, dear friends

This is our 100th newsletter. Our newsletter has been published since 2009 to keep you informed on the development of our projects, our works and events in genealogy and local history organized in Luxembourg and the Greater Region ... As our visitors come from all over the world, the newsletter is published in three languages (English, French and German). On this occasion, we would like to thank our associates Henriette HEILES and Paulette GRUN-BESCH for the corrections made in the German and French versions as well as our member Véronique EICHER for her help for the English version.

Until December 31st, 2016, we offer, apart from the 10% discount for luxroots.club members, a special 40% discount on our PDF documents with details of births/baptisms of a certain family name. Check the specimen list (the STEINFORT family name).

A new associate, Carlo ROSENFELD from Luxembourg, joined our team of volunteers and is working on the baptisms of the parish of Fischbach.
Let us build together the genealogy tree of Luxembourg! luxroots is the genealogical association in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg whose volunteers do not work on personal databases, but enter data online directly to the non-profit luxroots-database.
That's why working together makes us so powerful. If you are able to analyze records of civil registers or even of parish registers, and you want to be part of a dynamic team of volunteers as part of the cross-border and non-profit project, please contact us!
You do not need to go to townships or to archives. luxroots makes available to its associates the pictures of the records of a certain township/parish free of charge which they plan to analyze and enter the details in the luxroots-database.
Do not hesitate to participate in this great puzzle of genealogy of Luxembourg by analyzing and capturing the details of the records of your preferred township or parish. Check our inventory of records of townships/parishes
to be analyzed soon or other available documents.

Which associate is currently working on what ?

Our website igenealogy.lu now holds 82 trees with 236,000 people. after updating the Gedcom file of Gerard GLOD with 47.000 people.

Through the myluxroots transactions, more than 300 subscribers and associates have already entered their recent family members to luxroots linking them to the ancestors already entered earlier by our volunteers. A subscriber recently added three members of his family in our database and received in return a pedigree chart with over 100 ancestors (7 generations), and this in 5 minutes, not to mention the ability to create lists of descendants of these ancestors instantly. In Luxembourg, you will find nothing comparable to our project and for this reason, please help us to assemble the large Grand Duchy of Luxembourg genealogy puzzle and the neighboring regions. Check the pedigree charts of Christiane, Hortense, Paulette and Serge. Do the same, we will support you!
Today, you may check on the Internet all records of the Civil (~ 1795-1923) and parish registers (~1600-~1815) of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg as well as the notary records 1621-1821 and the 1843-1900 censuses without going to archives or libraries. Follow

46 members participated at the luxroots.club Christmas meeting on December 17th, 2016 at the museum Thillenvogtei in Rindschleiden. Have a look at some pictures of this meeting. Thanks to Jean FERBER, the NEY family and their friends for organizing this meeting. A big thank also to our associate Armand SERRES for his musical support and to our subscriber Erich SINGER for the video. This link gives you some pictures.

We wish you a happy Christmas with your family and friends, and for 2017, we wish you health, happiness, success, and good family searches with the luxroots team.

Our next newsletter will be sent on Wednesday, January 25th, 2017.
