Dear subscribers, dear visitors of our websites, dear friends

Public interest before personal interest is the motto of the luxroots genealogy group whose more than 60 volunteers enter the details of the records in the association's online database. The luxroots data are not available to feed databases, websites, genealogical work for third parties, which pass beyond the genealogical research of the family of the subscriber. The use of our data for commercial purposes (search for ancestors, heir research, ..) is not permitted without a special permission.
Genealogy is a very nice hobby, but sometimes it becomes commercial. The board members of the luxroots associations as well as our luxroots associates are not working in genealogy to make money. We hope that the members of board of other genealogical associations in the region have the same approach.

With the financial support of our subscribers and the commitment of our associates, we were able to participate in the last few years with our luxroots charity program with 3,275 € in various charitable actions. For the year 2016-2017, we have completed the list of donors as of August 25th, 2017, and on the basis of this result, we remit a check of 1,500 euros to a charity association during our annual meeting.
The luxroots.club asbl annual meeting will be held on Tuesday, October 24th, 2017 at 7:30pm at the Centre Nicolas Braun in Hesperange. All members are invited. You find the program of this annual meeting
with this link.

Without having to move, you have at your disposal from your workstation, all records of the civil and parochial registers of Luxembourg as well as those from the Belgian and French border regions. Follow this link and click on the respective link in the 'Copies d'actes' box.
Often the family researcher can hardly decipher the details of the records. With luxroots, the deciphering of records becomes easy thanks to the details of records in its database.
As a subscriber, you will find details of all birth certificates available from the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg and some 250,000 from the German and Belgian border regions.
Apart from some 5,000 marriage certificates of the municipalities of Differdange, Flaxweiler, Hollerich and Lenningen, all the details of available marriage certificates 1840-1923 are at your disposal. As you can see on the first map, almost 2/3 of the 1798-1839 weddings are also entered.

To better assist family researchers, we have redesigned our search page. Now you can search by surname a husband or wife in over 190,000 unique marriages in order to get the details of the selected wedding. No other database in Luxembourg offers you this quality and quantity.

The second map presents the state of the luxroots records of parish registers before 1800. Some 75% of the details of the baptisms are entered. Marriages prior to 1800 are entered on almost 2/3 of the territory of Luxembourg.

Let us build together the genealogy tree of Luxembourg! luxroots is the genealogical association in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg whose volunteers do not work on personal databases, but enter data online directly to the non-profit luxroots-database.
That's why working together makes us so powerful. If you are able to analyze records of civil registers or even of parish registers, and you want to be part of a dynamic team of volunteers as part of the cross-border and non-profit project, please contact us!
You do not need to go to townships or to archives. luxroots makes available to its associates the pictures of the records of a certain township/parish free of charge which they plan to analyze and enter the details in the luxroots-database.
Do not hesitate to participate in this great puzzle of genealogy of Luxembourg by analyzing and capturing the details of the records of your preferred township or parish. Check our inventory of records of townships/parishes
to be analyzed soon or other available documents.

Through the myluxroots transactions, more than 300 subscribers and associates have already entered their recent family members to luxroots linking them to the ancestors already entered earlier by our volunteers. If you add 7 family members (1924-2017) in our database, it is possible that you get a pedigree chart with 1,000 ancestors (10 generations), and this in 10 minutes, not to mention the ability to create lists of descendants of these ancestors instantly. In Luxembourg, you will find nothing comparable to our project and for this reason, please help us to assemble the large Grand Duchy of Luxembourg genealogy puzzle and the neighboring regions. Check the pedigree charts of Christiane, Hortense, Paulette and Serge. Do the same, we will support you!
