Since 2004, more than 7.000 visitors registered on www.luxroots.com. With over 1,100 members, luxroots confirms its leading position in genealogy in Luxembourg far exceeding the overall number of members of other genealogical associations of Luxembourg.

During a meeting at the Ministry of Culture on April 20th, 2018, between Mrs Josée KIRPS, director of the National Archives, Guy ARENDT, Secretary of State for Culture, and Georges EICHER of luxroots.com asbl, Mrs KIRPS confirmed the posting of the Civil Register records on the website of the National Archives according to the following schedule:
- for mid July 2018, the records of the district of Luxembourg and
- for December 2018, the records of the district of Diekirch

Our website igenealogy.lu, where you can publish your GEDCOM file for free, after adding/updating the files of Luc STOFFEL and Gérald PIQUET-MICHOT now holds 94 trees with 270,000 people. Give us yours and we will publish it for free on this site.

343 notary records of DONLINGER, Ettelbruck 1791/1792 have been indexed by our associate Marianne EHMANN. This database now holds 13.449 records.

For your searches, you do not need to have a special genealogy program, neither free nor paid. Through the myluxroots transactions, more than 400 subscribers and associates have already entered their recent family members to luxroots linking them to the ancestors already entered earlier by our volunteers. If you add 7 family members (1924-2017) in our database, it is possible to get a pedigree chart with 1,000 ancestors (10 generations), and this in 10 minutes, not to mention the ability to create lists of descendants of these ancestors instantly. In Luxembourg, you will find nothing comparable to our project and for this reason, please help us to assemble the large Grand Duchy of Luxembourg genealogy puzzle and the neighboring regions. You do not need to go to townships or to archives. luxroots makes available to its associates the pictures of the records of a certain township/parish free of charge which they plan to analyze and enter the details in the luxroots-database.
Do not hesitate to participate in this great puzzle of genealogy of Luxembourg by analyzing and capturing the details of the records of your preferred township or parish. Check our inventory of records of townships/parishes to be analyzed soon or other available documents . ▲
