The meeting of the history associations of the 2 Luxembourgs during the weekend of April 2nd to 3rd allowed the luxroots.lu-associates to meet new friends with interest in genealogy and local history.
We hope to be able to respond positively to the invitation of colleagues in Saint-Hubert, organizers of the next meeting, to present our projects.

We need more associates to help us with the data input of records for the following
Townships and parishes as well as of the cantons of Capellen, Grevenmacher and Remich which we want to add to our project. Contact us if you are interested in working with us ! Which associate is working on what today ?

Maintaining the highest quality of information, is one of the primary goals of our project and therefore we only enter data based on copies of authentic acts. Read our

www.roots.lu, one of the most visited genealogy website in Luxembourg, you can do searches in the family books of the parochias of Diekirch, Ettelbruck, Mersch et Septfontaines with more than 15.000 marriages and 33.000 children. (source: family books by our colleague Fons WILTGEN.)

The Forum for genealogy and local history in Luxembourg
www.généalogie.lu is a website with questions and answers, with information on the genealogy search in Luxembourg, searches by descendants of emigrants from Luxembourg, and the answers to these questions from the visitors. Nearly 750 questions are waiting for their answer! To ask or answer a question, you must register (free)!

www.eluxemburgensia.lu, online since 2009, offers online-reading of the former editions of newspapers and searches by word therein.
The editions of the Luxemburger Wort (1848-1950) and of the Tageblatt (1913-1950) are now all online.
Under
www.luxemburgensia.bnl.lu, you can find some other digitalized documents.

Prümer Land published in this 2/2011 a portrait of the priest Johann Hubert SCHMITZ, born August 9th,1765 in Dackscheid (Arzfeld) and deceased on August 3rd,1838, and some other interesting articles from the region.
