Working together on genealogy for the future, that is the motto of the luxroots.lu group
This makes us one of the most successful providers of Luxembourgish genealogical data.

Unfortunately, we have to start this newsletter with very sad news, announcing the loss of one of our best collaborators, as Marguy SCHAACK-RASQUIN died August 10th, 2012 after a short illness.
After her research on her families
SCHAACK and RASQUIN, she joined the genealogy project luxroots.com to work on the townships of Wiltz, Esch-sur-Sûre and Heiderscheid.
She planned to start working on the records of her hometown Pétange.
We join the family in their mourning and express our deepest sympathy to her husband and her children.
Marguy, thank you for your kindness and your commitment to our project that will keep a memory of you forever.

During the month of August, the
luxroots.com associates finished the following data input:
942 marriages 1840-1923 of the township of
Redange by Christiane KRIER-PETERS and Hortense BOHLER-HAAS
3,783 births 1797-1894 of the township of
Lorentzweiler by Georges EICHER
3,502 births 1797-1923 of the township of
Biwer by Micheline and Fernand HERMES-METZ
2,976 births 1797-1894 of the township of
Mondercange by Jean-Claude LAHYR
4,534 births 1797-1923 of the township of
Lintgen by Paulette GRUN-BESCH
580 births 1797-1823 of the former township of
Hunsdorf by Georges EICHER
1,018 marriages 1840-1923 of the township of
Heiderscheid by Marguy SCHAACK-RASQUIN (+).

Except for some 50 birth records, all birth records 1797-1923 of the 5 northern cantons (Clervaux, Diekirch, Redange, Vianden and Wiltz) as well as all marriage records 1840-1923 of the cantons Clervaux, Wiltz et Vianden are now in the luxroots.com database.
Check our
statistics TOP-100 as well as our updated inventory.

During the month of August, our associates passed the number of 500,000 birth records.

Which associate is currently working on what ?

22 people were interested in the collective reading of Latin records from the 18th century during our August meeting.
To continue to provide a good service to our subscribers and visitors, we changed to a new and faster server on August 28th. Such an investment is only possible with the financial support of our subscribers and consequently, we want to thank them for their support.
Support the luxroots project with one of the proposed memberships.
