Working together on genealogy for the future, that is the motto of the luxroots group
This makes us one of the most successful providers of Luxembourgish genealogical data.
luxroots.com - roots.lu - généalogie.lu - igenealogy.lu - luxbooks.lu - Web Projects by eicher.lu
our subscriptions - myluxroots - - Contacts for Research - our newsletters - luxroots on facebook - Twitter and myWort - our associates - Statistics - our calendar - our flashback
The quality of our information and the satisfaction of our subscribers and visitors are our priorities.

The long autumn and winter evenings are ideal to start genealogy, this beautiful hobby of searching for ancestors.
With easier access to authentic copies of documents as well as published data of already analyzed documents on websites, the door is wide open for everyone.
Since January, the associates of the luxroots genealogy group have analyzed more than 160,000 records and the database now includes more than 680,000 people, 211,000 of whom are connected to their parents. This allows constructing online pedigree tables and descendant's lists up to 4 generations with a mouse click for more than 210,000 people.

www.igenealogy.lu now holds 66 family genealogies with a total of 145,000 persons and on our website www.roots.lu, the website with details of records of the 17th and 18th centuries, 1,000,000 persons (children, fathers, mothers, husbands, spouses, godfathers and -mothers, ...) are indexed so they can be looked through with our search engines.

As you know it already, all our subscriptions are limited in time and in volume in order to avoid professionals (searching for heirs, holders of other websites or databases, ...) and thus allow our server to respond quickly to requests from family researchers.
If you reach this volume limit, you can now
use your myluxroots points in order to decrease the volume counter. (These myluxroots points are offered with the EXTENDED subscriptions, obtained when adding information to our database or by buying further points.

If not yet done,
support the luxroots project with one of the proposed memberships in order to search within the most important genealogical datebases of Luxembourg.

Our library To help our subscribers and associates in their work and genealogical research, we began to acquire genealogical documents of Luxembourg and the neighboring region. With this link, you will find a list of these documents. Provided that you have a search to do within one of these documents, please send your request by mail!

If you need further information about genealogy in Luxembourg or on the luxroots projects, please participate at the genealogy course at the 'Club Senior Atertdall' in Colpach given by us on Monday, November, 4th and 11th, at 2pm - please register by phone 27 55 33 70.

The genealogy group luxroots is at your service with an information desk:

30 associates and subscribers participated at our autumn meeting on October 7th at the Clubhouse of the Tennis Howald. Further explanations on genealogy in Luxembourg and on the luxroots project, especially the new transactions, have been given.
Thank you to the catering team and to Armand GILLEN for the
pictures of this meeting.

34 associates and friends were on our annual meeting on October 18th. The activity report for the period from October 1st, 2012 to September 30th, 2013 shows that 11 new associates have joined the project , the number of registered visitors rose to 3162, the monthly newsletter is sent to 2,453 registered people.
The number of subscriptions increased despite the fact that 87 annual subscriptions were not renewed. The group participated with an information stand at 10 exhibitions in Belgium, France and Luxembourg, gave an introduction to genealogy, and made a presentation of the luxroots project.
We published a series of articles on genealogy in the the Luxemburger Wort, which was a great success and we have established a vademecum of 12 pages on genealogical research in Luxembourg and the surrounding region.
A lot of new applications have been developed: points system, builder of ancestors tables and lists of descendants, genealogy quiz, dynamic inventory, checklists of our data ...
A positive balance sheet was presented. With a daily average of more than 550 analyzed records, the group has set itself the goal of reaching one million records by the end of the 2014.
A big THANK YOU to all the associates, the people in charge of catering, the officials of the Clubhaus Op der Heed in Hupperdange and to Armand Gillen for the
series of photos.

The database now includes 66 files with 145,000 people.
This website has been created specifically to publish your genealogical search results (as GEDCOM file) free of charge
.

your message to us !

myluxroots, our application suite has been developed to enable you to add your recent family members born from 1895 to today, to link them to those already entered in our database, and thus obtain a pedigree chart for the people you entered. (Please note that people born until 1923 are often entered in our database on basis of information from the National Archives and that the people born after y (y=actual year-100) are not shown.)
The subscriber can add studies, jobs, functions, addresses, other information, pictures and links to all the records. The subscriber, enriching the database luxroots, earns myluxroots points. These points can be used to build pedigree charts and/or lists of descendants for people in the database already linked by marriage.
