Dear friends and visitors of our websites
Save the date: November 9th, 2014 in order to visit this exhibition which we organize together with genealogical clubs from that region. This is a unique opportunity to get to know these clubs better, to ask them for support for your family research or obtain genealogical documents. The details of this event will be sent to you with our next newsletter.
The Board of the luxroots.club association, which met on July 22nd, 2014, was happy to see that the club counts more than 600 members. luxroots.club asbl is today the largest genealogical society of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.
Through their membership, members appreciate the good work of our partners in our projects. We would like to remind members of the aims of the association as defined in the articles and in particular to promote the websites www.luxroots.com, www.roots.lu, www.igenealogy.lu, www.luxbooks.lu and other future websites and any activity directly or indirectly related to the corporate purpose of the association.
The best way to do this is to put the Internet address luxroots.club in a conspicuous place of your website, in your signature of sent messages or ask your friends to join luxroots.club. We thank you in advance.
The General Meeting of luxroots.club asbl will be held on Thursday, October 9th, 2014 at 7pm in Howald.

luxroots and the protection of personal data
Within the luxroots project, partners do not family research, but they capture the details of all records (~ 1600-1923) in a common database.
Further to the Luxembourg legislation on personal data, associates and subscribers can add data of their family members born until today and this data is visible only to the person who entered these data. In addition, any information of persons born in the last 100 years is not displayed to subscribers and site visitors.
Each person record contains a link to allow visitors to ask for anonymization of an ancestor (with legal personality) born there over 100 years ago. The record also includes a link for each capture with which we invite the visitor to ask for correction of inaccurate data.
We do our best not to display sensitive data of the records of the past 150 years.
With your registration, you have given us personal data that allow you to use our websites. These data will not be used for any other purposes. The law also requires us to file a list of our luxroots.club asbl members annually indicating the full name, address and nationality with the RCSL. In order to have the correct data, we modified the forms to register to our projects and websites as well as for modifying your personal data. After logging into luxroots.com, the page that opens will show your personal data stored in our files and allows you to update your information.
If you want to end your association with the projects and websites of the luxroots group, please anonymize your personal data by clicking Update your user profile.
With the same transaction, you can subscribe or unsubscribe to our newsletter or renounce to be a member of luxroots.club asbl.
Here you can also put the contacts for research to YES which enables you to do a search on a lastname and thus find luxroots friends doing the same job. This will allow you to contact them for an exchange of information.
We require your help to find the dates and places of death of people born in Luxembourg and in the border region, and who later emigrated to other countries. For these people, it is almost not possible we have here this information. If you have such missing information, click on the link add death information (on each card) and enter the missing data. We thank you and we will add 2 points to your myluxroots points counter.
